Wendy Anne Irving - Woven Textile Art & Design

I create woven textiles using hand dyed natural yarn, and high-quality and sustainable fibres are key to the philosophy of my practice.

As my work is conceptual, each piece tells a story about the human condition, expressing the intricacies of emotion, struggle and consequence found in the everyday. I take inspiration from the people and situations I encounter and examine these themes in the work of other contemporary artists to find my own voice and expression.

With a wide knowledge of techniques, I enjoy exploring new interpretations; and colour plays a vital role in creating and communicating atmosphere and narrative.
